Beautiful Rainbows

on September 22, 2014

Below are pictures of 3 rainbows. The first is a very unusual rainbow halo around the sun which I saw when I happened to look up. This picture is quite recent about a few months back. This is called “A circumhorizontal arc is an optical phenomenon – an ice-halo formed by plate-shaped ice crystals in high level cirrus clouds. Other currently accepted names for the phenomenon are circumhorizontal arc or lower symmetric 46° plate arc.”

This 2nd picture is also a circumhorizontal rainbow.

The 3rd one is a normal rainbow which I took outside my room window in 2003.

When I was small I used to believe there was a pot of gold under rainbows lol!! I thought it was possible to slide on it even lol!! =D
